Hello,my name is Matthew and I am a Recruiter with TechUSA’s Knoxville Office. I support recruiting for multiple clients and I am currently looking for MySQL Database Administrators to work with one of our top clients at a tier III data facility.
Here is a brief job description:
Responsibilities
• Provides all aspects of SQL and My SQL administration: installation, configuration, backup strategy, disaster recovery, upgrades, schema deployment
• Implements and manages database replication
• Responsible for availability and usability of the database servers
• Develops tools to automate and manage My SQL tiers and SQL Clusters
• Provide requirements and solutions to expand existing monitoring tools
• Works with various operation and engineering teams as necessary
• Quickly diagnose server problems and employ preventive measures to maintain high availability servers
• Estimating project duration, effort, resource load and cost
• Creating processes to ensure data integrity and identify potential data errors
• Use and enforce best practices in data management based upon industry standard
Skills and Experience Required
• 2+ years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.
• Extensive experience with MS SQL, and My SQL is a must.
• Proficient in scripting languages (PHP, Perl).
• Performance tuning experience.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other staff members, to complete short and long-term projects.
• Must be able to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The requirements are somewhat flexible, and if you have any experience with MySQL administration you could be a good candidate.
